After gaining
a BA Hons in Textile Design from Edinburgh College of Art and haute couture
design experience working in Paris assisting Sabina Fay Braxton, Victoria
focused on interior textiles when offered a position with Martine Serpaut,
a more commercial textile design studio. It was here that Victoria gained
invaluable experience designing fabrics for many of the world’s
leading home furnishing companies.
In 1994 Victoria returned to the UK to establish her own design studio
in London offering a unique collection of embellished home accessories.
She has also lectured at the University of Central England on textile
design.
Victoria has
been recognised as the one of the design world’s ‘most gifted
newcomers’ working in embroidered textiles. Her work has appeared
in numerous publications including World Of Interiors, House and Garden
in the UK, The Sunday Times, Selvedge Magazine, and Traditional Home and
Southern Accents in the USA.
Today Victoria
offers, alongside her own designs for embroidery application, a design
consultancy service to clients ranging from international hotel chains
to furnishing fabric manufacturers. She is passionate about decoration,
embroidery, and surface texture.
